Verity's description ab. rosea was lilac-blue with a rosey reflection.

Frohawk's description ab. opalizana is of a pale opalescent colouring.

Gynandromorph

Specimens that show a mix of male and female characters.

This specimen shows a very definite female band on the left forewing.

A very striking multiple aberration.

albescens: The underside of these males are a pale grey to whitish.

barnumi:  On the underside all the small black marginal spots fail completely, leaving each interneural space half white externally, and half orange

obsoleta: All the submedian and basal spots absent and the discoidal spots very weak.
